November Rain

Gusting winds,

November rain,

Then the snow,

Leaves come drifting down,

To fall on woodland floors,

Carpeting the ground in layers,

Where they fall,

A mixture of colours,

The patterns are formed,

Like a mosaic art piece,

For the squirrels to explore.

The path led me to Widecombe Bay,

With white horses racing to shore,

Listening to the roar,

Which one would be the first to shore,

Crashing in to seashore rocks,

Wave spray created by the shock,

With gulls flying in the sky,

Playing with the breeze,

Before they dive,

Surfers on the crest,

Putting their skills to the test,

People on the beach,

Some with dogs,

Off the leash.....

To lend an ear,

Notice a tear,

Time to hear,

There to care,

As a river flows from a soul.

Christmas Lights sparkle bright,

Lighting the streets on a festive night,

Chestnuts roasting,

Mulled wine poured,

Joy to the world the festive season brings,

Lovers kiss under the mistletoe,

Golden brown the leaves grace the ground,

A gypsy Queen waltzed in a December Moon,

Waltzed around a burning fire,

In the chill of the midnight air,

A loving glow showed,

As a Prince shared a tender kiss,

The violins played that romantic tune,

At a magical time of year,

As the matchmaker watched from a distanced place,

The cherub with a smile on his face,
