Stood In The Dead Of The Night

I stood in the dead of the night,

My shadow had disappeared,

It was out of sight,

Blinded by the darkness,

My senses alive,

Safe I was,

For I knew I was going to be alright,

For I trusted my inner voice,

There on the path I paused,

Until the warming rays were born,

For the sun it  rose,

The day commenced,

With the first footstep,

Walking, 

But not alone .....
