The Chapter's End

A page it was turned,

To a chapter's end,

No other words,

Inscribed upon that page,

The actor numbed,

Static up on the stage,

Stood on show,

For all to see,

Waiting for lines,

A script to read,

Paused in action,

While others are free,

Frozen in time,

Waiting for a new chapter,

To begin,

As the hands,

They move to a seconds beat,

The time it passes,

A day,

A week,

There on stage,

One on show,

Patiently,

The actor waits.............
